Hey there! Afraid the Master must either be doing a serious upgrade (he mentioned something about this a few weeks ago) or else the server crashed. Site's been down three days. I really need to get his direct email, because there's no other way to contact him when the site is down.
Saw the Return to Middle Earth special last night. Even though I have major reservations about Jackson's film version of Lord of the Rings, I have to admit #2 looks better than #1. I think Pippin and Merry finally have decent parts. Billy Boyd was pretty funny during the special. They showed a lot about the filming of the siege at Helm's Deep, but I am way more interested in seeing the Ents tear up Isengard.
Also saw that SciFi Channel (Boo! Hiss!) is bringing out Children of Dune next March. I guess that's to make up for all the junk they've decided to air. You know things are bad when Yu-Gi-Oh! is the best scifi/fantasy program on TV. Guess I'll give Dynotopia another try tonight, but wasn't all that impressed with the premiere. (My four-year-old niece, on the other hand, thought it ripped. "T-Rex! OOOO, look, he ate that guy." Needless to say, we switched to another channel).

If you have ICQ, The Master's pretty easy to find on ICQ, I believe. I have his ICQ address on my home computer, but haven't turned ICQ on in many many months.
SciFi Channel, I think now we know why there wasn't enough money left for Farscape Season 5, even though they're trying to claim that the final 5 or however many of Season 4 is a New Season Premiere. Taken and Children of Dune were most likely very expensive. I've been watching Taken, I'm enjoying it. That "Dream Team" though is a major let down. When they were originally talking about it, it seemed like a serious Psycho Analysis of dreams, now from the promo ads it seems like it's just gonna be sex, sex, sex. "I'm having sex with another girl as a man and I don't know it's me" was said by one girl. Another girl said something like "And then she started kissing me", I believe her boyfriend was sitting beside her. I don't think that belongs on the Scifi channel, unless of course that sex is involving Aliens.

Hi, everybody! I wish I knew what was going on with SV. I can't reach the Master either even with a non-SV addy. I know he had server problems and then a bad computer crash, but he hasn't contacted me about this latest problem.

I'm sorry to say it doesn't look good for SV. No word from the Master since it went down.
I also go to sf-fandom.com, which is pretty active.
In addition to hostboard, are there other places that are active for sf?

I've been posting a bit at a site called, www.televisionwithoutpity.com
They do show reviews/synopsis and also have a posting board. The two shows they are doing that I know are scifi related are Buffy and Firefly and Enterprise. They have posting boards for Farscape, but I don't think they are doing the reviews. They also review Survivor and Big Brother which is how I found them.
I like their reviews, they are generally pretty amusing and comprehensive. I almost feel like I have watched the show after reading the review there.

My suggestion is that we can certainly start s some posts here on burning scifi subject for lack of the SV venue. Although I prefer the SV site for such posts, this place is just fine and we have a bunch of old Scifi friends here to post with. I may have to start with creating a new Enterprise post that I usually create at SV.

Nommy, this board is pretty flexible, I have no concrete plan for it, other than having it available for friendly conversations.

If anyone hears anything from the Master, please post it here. It really is a rotten shame. He doesn't seem to have much trouble with that sight, but when it comes, it seems to come in the form of a crash. This is the second one he's had to deal with since I started posting there. I hope he hasn't given up on the site.
Bmat/Azziz--I spend more time lurking than posting these days, but the Leaky Cauldron (.org) is great fun if you want to keep up on Harry Potter. Now I am visiting lots of Lord of the Rings sites.
